Founded in Manchester by Sir Charles Hallé, the Hallé has been performing since 1858. As well as giving over 70 concerts each year in its Manchester home, The Bridgewater Hall, the Hallé performs all over the North West, as well as appearing regularly in Sheffield, Nottingham, Bradford & Leeds. The Orchestra also has an extensive and award-winning education and community programme, with over 35,000 people of all ages taking part each year. Last year over a quarter of a million people heard the Hallé, through, concerts, broadcasts and recordings.
