Rowetta talks about her happy memories of trips to Belle Vue and seeing elephants for the first time
My memories of Belle Vue were it was the best place to go as a kid, the place you looked forward too going apart from the seaside which would be Blackpool or Southport it was Belle Vue and we went a lot because it was a zoo right on our doorstep. And then I just remember it being gone so I never got the chance to take my kids to Belle Vue which is a shame.
I have just got happy memories, I remember being really happy when we went to Belle Vue, I just remember loads of animals, I remember seeing elephants for the first time. It was great to have that in Manchester is great, the only chance you’re going to see them. It’s not like now where you have got the Internet where kids can see anything online and see videos of stuff online whenever they want too. I mean I would have loved to have a zoo in Manchester for my kids.
